Location & Grounds

The Boathouse sits directly on the banks of the River Avon, offering a large raised deck and landscaped gardens that lead down to the water. The Newbridge Park & Ride station is located next door, with buses to central Bath running every 15 minutes until around 11 pm. Central Bath, the Roman Baths, and the Royal Crescent are all within a 10-minute drive or short bus ride from the hotel.

The on-site restaurant serves hearty food made from high-quality local ingredients, including a full English breakfast each morning and a gourmet dinner menu. Guests can dine on the outdoor terrace or in the conservatory overlooking the river, with a carefully selected wine list and real ales available. Wonderful Riverside Stay

attentive staff river view unlimited tea ride access
I appreciated the attentive staff who provided excellent service. Our room included a balcony facing the river (which I enjoyed). The hotel also offers unlimited tea and coffee. I found the park and ride was a very short walk away.
I noticed that the bathroom lacked a shelf, slightly inconvenient for storing toiletries.

The breakfast buffet offered many options, and the quality of the produce was high. I dined in the bar one evening and found the food tasty (especially with the fire on!).

The hotel features a quirky theme related to 'The Wind and the Willows'. The location is on the river, and parking is convenient. You can also help yourself to extra tea, coffee, and fresh fruit.

Uneven experience, some issues observed

The location had easy access to the city center via the park and ride service.
The room, a Comfy Double, had a television that WOULDN'T connect to the Wi-Fi. I could not use Netflix. The balcony had rotted holes. It was not good.

Our room lacked ventilation in the bathroom. It smelled damp! the decking outside was poorly maintained. It had slippery decking. dead plants were also present.
